About the Author
Chandni Kapur is a poet, an MBA and an ICF accredited coach with a corporate career spanning more than 25 years. A lifetime member of The Poetry Society (India), and a seasoned though elusive poet of her own accord, she published her first collection of poetry in 1992. She has lived in five countries and published ten books with Writers Workshop, India: Reflections (1992), Lurking Shadows (1997), Embers, Ash and Dust (1999), Karma (2001), The Looking Glass (2004), The Other Face (2009), Timeless Interludes (2013), Of Nooks and Cloisters (2019), A White Rainbow (2021) and The Morning Twilight (2023). She currently lives with her family in Dubai.

A cruel day
like none other –
my undead emotions
went cold,
dried up and withered.
Their skeletal remnants melted
like icicles in the sun
their ink dripped away
and I could not write any more.
