In his author’s note, Mulimani writes:
“The Holy Plumber and Other Stories is a collection of ten short stories. The strength of these stories lies in their intensity and the tension of opposites which I have tried to incorporate within them.
Each story deals with a different profession, or professions, and the protagonists are made to confront their idealisms passionately. These confrontations are meant to make the reader explore himself — physically, mentally and spiritually.
In these stories I have tried to make the protagonists professionals, from different — almost opposite — fields, face each other with their own sets of values, using them both as their weapons and armor.
Some of the stories have artists as their protagonists, and being a struggling artist myself, I have tried to decipher and put into words the fears and desires which drive creative persons, including myself — with myriad consequences.”
