You come to the city of temples
with a clean conscience
and flow amidst the frightened
masses clinging to idols
You let their miseries reflect clear
on your translucent sheets
as they try to wash off dreadful
memories and unseen remorse
from their weary feet, scrubbing hard
on your fossil rock remnants
You receive all foggy grime amassed
through the long winter, and
muddle up the colour of blood that escapes
from their nightmares into your
baffling brownness, and let woeful tears
flow along, fully contaminating your
spirit, as you spiral the fury flowing from
the guns that have to protect gods.
