Teaser:
Lady in Waiting
She was the kind
That would be asked to keep score
While the others played.
In the beach,
She would be the one
Guarding the clothes and footwear,
While the rest of the gang lapped the waves.
It was not as if she was a hanger on
Or that she did not like
To join the general laughter;
It was just that
By the time she started to laugh
The joke had changed,
And was on her;
She had inherited
That gene of goodness,
The building block
Of waiting and watching.
Some day,
She will inherit the earth.
