About the Book
The three plays in this collection comprise Sangkranti (The Ending), Pratham Partha (The First-Born) and Anamni Angana (Angana-Unnamed ). Featuring only three characters, Dhritarashtra, Sanjay and Gandhari, the first play presents Duryodhan’s death on the last day of the Kuruskshetra war. The second play explores the thoughts of Karna as he prepares for the war. The third play foregrounds the unnamed maid in the epic (here given the name of Angana), who Ambika sends in her stead to sleep with Vyasa, unbeknownst to him, leading to the birth of Vidur.
