About the Author
Sawmitra Roy is a lower-primary school teacher residing in Silchar, Assam. He is founding editor of an English little magazine called Yawp! Alongside writing poems and short stories he illustrates poems and makes graphic stories. This is his first book of poems.

I woke up
from a dystopian dream,
suffocated.

I made tea and
unrolled the newspaper.
Both of them
told tales
of a colonial past
and an authoritarian present.

Truth and justice are my socks.
It’s so hard to find them. Both. Together.
And those I find easily are the loose ones with holes.
