About the Author:
Rakesh Dogra was born in 1972 in Jammu & Kashmir. Of Dogri descent, his family had to leave their ancestral house in Jammu and move to Delhi for mercenary reasons. Dogra’s initial schooling was partially done in Patna’s Don Bosco School and in Delhi. After graduating from Delhi University in English Literature, he migrated to Australia to pursue an MBA. But his love for literature remained — constant and unchanging. Instead of spending time on management books in the library of his university, he often found himself enamored by Persian and English poetry shelves. In 2004, he started writing Mist in the nicely enveloped solitude of his apartment in Auckland. But he could not go beyond the first few pages as he felt his fervour and energy slipping away. He did not write for next two years. In 2006, he travelled to the foothills of the Himalayas and took up board in an obscure, remote village in Uttarkashi. It was here that he finished Mist.
